pictures

Just some pictures of projects finished before the wedding.

old DR chandelier moved to master bath

family room built-ins constructed mid-July. Painted by yours truly and hubby in 3 days.

boys' bath - there was an apparent mix-up with the color for this bathroom during the construction and a different shade of blue was used. Quick redo to the color I wanted. Plus a curtain and sconces put up.

Guest/hall bath - needed a second coat of paint - done. added ribbon to the curtain and Brent put it and the sconces up. shower curtain (disc't at Ballard) has "B" monogram.

laundry room valance made by me in order to match the previously owned valance that is hanging in Vay's closet (so all 3 windows are the same from outside).

The Wedding

There have been several questions about the nature of this wedding event, so here's the explanation.
Emily is the daughter of Jan, one of my best friends, and was our sitter for a while. She was a good one too bc she would stand up to Vay. : ) Several weeks after her engagement I offered to give Emily a shower. The couple later decided on a beach destination wedding, so we made this event a couples shower in order to accomodate the friends that would not be able to make it to the wedding. Apparently things for a beach wedding were working out as well as the garden wedding plans had initially. The day Jan and I were addressing the invitations for the couples shower/party she shared that Emily had said she wished she'd thought things through more and were getting married at this party. I told Jan the only difference was a cake and some chairs. That's how it changed into a wedding.
The next day Emily, Jan and I were discussing the change and decided that since we had party invitations that read "come celebrate the impending nuptials," (they were super cute!), it would be fun for the guests to be surprised. But, as you might imagine, it's challenging to keep such a big secret especially when so many people needed to know in order to arrive early.
That's how it changed into a surprise wedding and then into not a surprise.
It was beautiful!

Can You Guess?

These are cookies for the 'sweets table' at the wedding being held here tomorrow. Thanks, Raeg & Mindy, for doing those!
So, you ask, why haven't we heard about a wedding at your house?
Well, it is the couples shower/party turned surprise wedding turned not surprise. : )
We are greatly honored that the bride and groom and families would even consider such.
Things of course have been crazy, but are looking great. We did not accomplish everything that needed to be done after the construction, but we got tons finished with this motivator.
I'll post new pictures next week.
