It was touch and go on the leaf pile this year -- we arrived home on Thursday to see that the lawn company had stopped by and mulched our leaves!!! After I emailed the owner about his error, the kids decided that they did, in fact, want a leaf pile again this year, so we 3 headed out to the yard to check it out. With crutches under arms and rake in hand, we began to salvage what we could of our leaves. Lucky for us (in this instance) the lawn company likes to blow our leaves into the hedgerow and the vegetation under the trees, so we started there raking out all the leaves that had been blown under. (I will only say about the lawn company that I let them know that they are not to mulch leaves without clearing it with me first -- we seem to have this conversation each year...)
Then on Saturday we headed out to collect and pile. The neighbors have a maple that hangs partially over our driveway, so we were able to compensate for our mulched leaves by blowing those up our driveway and over to the pile.
Scootering and yard work don't necessarily go together well, BUT it was better than raking on crutches!!
Everyone got into helping.
Inevitably leaves get into shoes...
